Good eats in LA | eggslut

I FINALLY made it to eggslut! There was so much hype around it when they turned from food truck to vendor at the Grand Central Market. Guess what.. It totally deserves the hype and totally worth the wait in the long line. They're currently nominated for Best New Cheap Eats for Time Out LA '14 up against Amara Kitchen, The Bun Shop and Top Round. Now I haven't tried the first two, so I don't feel like it's fair for me to vote. But they win my vote for being the best all day breakfast place I've tried so far!
I had the sausage, egg and cheese sandwich which has house-made turkey sausage, over easy organic egg, cheddar cheese and honey mustard aioli in a brioche bun... When have you ever gotten a cheap organic and healthy-ish meal? If you have, please let me know!
Although it was a messy encounter with my sammy - egg yolk oozing through my fingers and all, it added to the whole ambiance of the place and made it that much better.
The "Slut" which is coddled egg on potato puree with toasty crostini is a must try if you are feeling somewhat adventurous. If you don't like the mashed potato texture, then it may not be your cup of tea.
I'd like to compare Grand Central Market to the NYC Chelsea Market but not as big and upscale. Everything is very reasonably priced with great taste in design and lots of selections in cuisine. You'll also find a very eclectic group of people walking around from tourists, to local families and very well-dressed hipsters.
When Erin and my mom get here next week, this will definitely be a place I'd like to stop with them!
If you ever get to try it, let me know what you think!! I hope I didn't hype it up too much for you! :)
