The Black Trench

Recently, I've felt a slight change of taste in my clothes, photography and style. I'm kind of excited about it, and I hope that you guys will like it and grow with me. I'm taking a new approach to these styling fashion photos. I thought what better way than to start with this amazing Everlane wool trench!

I've been kind of obsessed with this brand lately. I love their business model and their consistency in their branding and styling. They offer high quality clothes for a reasonable price. This trench is very comfortable. I chose a black one so that it matches everything and has longevity. I always need a black one for the holidays - going to events, black ties, girls night out, it's great for every occasion! I paired it with an all white outfit and a leather jacket to keep it minimal and elegant. Being in LA, I tend to make last minute decisions on where I want to go after work, so this look is definitely the "ready to go to any event" look.

Death Valley / 2

Hi guys! It's been a very busy month for us! I have so many projects that I'm excited to share with you, but I haven't put the time in to edit/write/post them! It's been hard to find the motivation after my day job to go home and start editing and writing at 10pm. This is especially difficult when you have a comfy couch waiting for you, and so many TV shows to catch up on. The last few months of the year are often the busiest for me - with traveling, closing out the year at work, and also taking more opportunities here and there.

Anyway, here is part 2 of our Death Valley trip!
After being in the hottest and lowest point of North America, we drove to the sand dunes to catch the sunset. It was very peaceful to stand amongst acres and acres of sand, and realize that you're just another grain of it. I wish I had a drone to see how far the dunes reached. We stayed there a little too late and had to find our way back to our car in darkness (and I mean darkness).

Death Valley / 1

Rudy, Alyssa, Feng and I took a trip to Death Valley. It was about a 5 hour drive, passing several eerie abandoned villages, and driving 20mph on unpaved roads, hoping our tires wouldn't pop. This place is worth visiting, but honestly I'm not sure if I'd ever really want to go back. We hit up 3 spots in Death Valley - the village with a convenient store, a bar and a buffet, Badwater Basin which is the lowest point in North America, and the Sand Dunes.

This photo shoot took place at Badwater Basin - which was 115F/46C. It felt like a big giant breathing down hot air on us. We got out of our car, and immediately sweat was dripping down! You must be thinking we were crazy for doing a photo shoot.. yup we were! Though not the most eco-friendly, we left the car air conditioning on high, and ran back and forth to cool down and change.
Hey! At least the photos turned out pretty cool!

Renee

I finally upgraded my camera to the Sony A7II, and was so excited to test it out! So I called up my girlfriends to come work with me in the studio one night.  It's been awhile since I photographed, but getting back into photography is easy when you have a talented model + the best hair/makeup person in the industry helping you! :) I had a great time shooting/working with Renee and Gina for the first time! This was our impromptu idea at the end of the night that turned into one of my favorite series. Make sure to scroll all the way down and click on their names to check out their work!
