2016... what a year. There's nothing we need more than to stop and take a deep breathe in. Oxygenate. Reinvigorate. This year's Pantone Color of the Year is inspired by the feeling of newness that comes with the first days of Spring. "Greenery" is meant to be life-affirming and full of vitality... just the attitude we need to strap on for the coming year.
As you know, I'm a huge fan of brightening the home with a ton of botanical greens but I'm not sure if I'm sold on this bright shade. How do you guys feel about it?
It's been frigid here in LA, by LA standards of course. One of my favorite layering style is wearing double jackets - black leather and this oversized boyfriend jean jacket. On a busy day, I am constantly going in and out of buildings, and the double jacket allows me to take the first layer on and off. Then when spring rolls around, I'm ready to rock this jacket like the 90s.
There's so many ways to add texture to your home. My favorite is this first photo - where there's greenery throughout the living room, but also in the paintings. It gives a very warm and welcoming feeling. If you know me, you know that I have a black thumb, which means I've killed all the plants that I've ever owned. My succulents are barely surviving at the moment.

New year! Same me... Somehow it already feels like it's March.
This year, I want to focus on patience. I've been listening to a few seminars about Millennials and one of the complaints is that we're really impatient. And.. I agree. So I'm going to try and slow down and enjoy boredom once in awhile, enjoy the DTLA noises, and spend time sitting with no phone and no TV around me. How long can I last? How long can you last?
