Beautiful Thailand

If you're looking for a relaxing family weekend getaway, I highly recommend Sava Villas at Phang Nga, Thailand.  The area is about a 30 min. drive north from Phuket and is slightly less commercialized...for the time being.  Our family spent a long weekend there and I must say the overall experience exceeded our expectations.  We were blown away by the sleek modern architecture and interior design, but what really topped it off was the service.  We received exceptional service from the minute we walked through the door!  Two very sweet ladies and a chef came to pamper us each day of our stay, and the food was delicious!  Check out the photos below.   We got a chance to walk around the entire development so some of the photos below are from other villas.

We haven't had a complete family trip ever since we all started working and having kids, but we were fortunate enough to get most of us together recently for this one (all except for Courtney, boo) so it was extra special. You can only imagine how the dynamics change with a ridiculously cute grandchild around. :)

So LA

I had a crazy, frustrating weekend - trying to deal with big corporations with horrible customer service. After two days of wasted time, numerous phone calls back and forth, and a lot of waiting around, I've finally moved to downtown! Woohoo! We spent till 4am last night unpacking and it's starting to look really noice!

In honor of DTLA, I wanted to showcase a photo shoot I did with Melly Lee a few weeks ago around the arts district. We did the whole LA shebang - went to Urth Caffe, got a delicious Spanish Latte Granita, went to the bridge, frolicked in the sun.. oh ya know.
These photos are all shot on film cameras. I chose basic colors with a flowy top to accent my gold shoes from anthropologie. Other than my favorite bright colors - orange and yellow, you can always find me in black and white. Gotta love the basics!!

Party of One

I had the pleasure of working with the beautiful, super talented and upbeat Char Baquiran! I loved working with her because she understands her body and how it moves and flows. It really makes life as a photographer a lot easier!  For this shoot, I wanted to keep it super light, happy and fun, so I called in some of my party friends - balloons and confetti - to set the mood and let Char work the space.

Let's kick off the summer with a party!

Life Lately w/ the Yeh Girls // Part II

Hello! Erin here! I have been MIA, sorry.  Apartment renovation, wedding planning, and work has taken up most of my waking hours and I’m guilty to say that I’ve been spending much more time on my apartment than wedding planning.

My favorite home design website at the moment is houzz.com. I love it because you can find pretty much any room and style you want for inspiration.  You can even search for specific furniture and see how others match the product to the room, or find out where and how much you can buy a piece of furniture you like in a photo.  Below are some of my favorites.   I also recommend checking out Courtney’s many interior and DIY boards on Pinterest, she picks out the good stuff (at least I think so). ;)

The catch for me is that living in Hong Kong makes things tougher.  There’s no Home Depot for a one-stop-shop, and there’s not much space to DIY.  I also can’t buy furniture I find online as they're often either not available here or if they are, they're likely sold at a premium price.  If you don’t have a contractor to help you source, you basically have to allocate a lot of time to visit many stores to see what's available.  But, the one good thing about HK is, if you want a piece of brand name furniture but you can't afford it, you can have it custom made in China just by showing them a photo. They're just right across the border.

I have one tip for those who plan to renovate their apartment... perhaps don't spend too much time looking at the home design websites; as great as they are, it makes decision-making much more difficult because there are so many great products to choose from and you'll want everything.  I suppose HK’s limited options is a good thing for an indecisive person like me after all.

Love the industrial feel of the whole room
love the cozy work space and cool room partitions
love the sliding doors into study
love the brick tiles and bronze faucet
like the dining chairs
like the see through kitchen and dining room
like the cement and wood
