Flower Fields

If you've been following my Instagram, you've probably seen photos of our weekend in San Diego. One of the mornings, my dad and I decided to visit the flower fields in Carlsbad. Although not even comparable to the Tulip Gardens in Amsterdam, it was close enough. :) There was about 50 acres of colorful petunia flowers, but unfortunately we caught them at the end of their bloom, so many of the flowers were already starting to wilt. It was still fun and beautiful to see! I believe yesterday was their last day of visits, but definitely check it out if you're in the area next time!

White on White

It's been awhile but we're back with some cool stuff! I finally figured out a way to wear white on white. I find it really hard to pull this off if you're not tall and skinny because it doesn't hide anything.. if you know what I mean. But this cute vest from TopShop helps break up the head-to-toe single color. I really like the black in-seam and the fake pockets on the side. I decided to keep the colors light by pairing this outfit with some nude flats. They also have the vest in dark blue!

Grab-n-Go Breakfast | Veggie Sausage Frittata Cupcakes

Mornings are sometimes rough for me, especially those days when you wake up late and don't have time to make breakfast! These frittata cupcakes are the best! They're a great grab-n-go healthy breakfast choice. It's easy to make and only takes about 30 minutes. If you don't particularly like any of the veggie/meat choices I selected, feel free to replace them with your favorites!

what you need
1 zucchini
1/2 sweet onion
8 cherry tomatoes
2 chicken apple sausages
6-8 large eggs
2 tablespoons olive oil
salt and pepper

what to do

1. Preheat the oven to 350F. Cover the muffin pan with olive oil. You can also use cupcake liners to save yourself from cleaning the pan.

2. Dice the veggies and the sausage into cubes. In a medium bowl, whisk the eggs together.

3. In a 10-inch skillet, sauté the onions, zucchini, tomatoes, and sausage for about 7-10 minutes until it's soft. Season with salt and pepper.

4. Fill each cup of the pan with a tablespoon full of veggies and sausage. Then pour in the whisked egg till they're almost full.

5. Place into oven for 15-20 minutes till the egg is set. Serve warm or cold.

Enjoy!

Running Late for Work

One of my favorite outfits for work - a soft v-neck blouse, and a pair of stretchy white jeans. I paired this with my new patent penny loafers that I found at Forever 21. Woo! Such a great purchase! I wore them yesterday for the first time, and they're very comfortable and cute!

We are starting a new fashion column here on Hey Yeh featuring outfits for work! Erin and I both have corporate day jobs, and our daily attire I would say is "smart casual".  Sometimes I run super late for work because I simply don't know what to wear! Here's a column for all of you that have corporate day jobs and struggle to find the perfect outfit everyday. I don't know about you but what I put on in the morning sets my mood for the rest of the day.
