92 and Sunny

Last weekend in LA didn't feel like March at all. It was 92 and sunny, so naturally everyone goes to the beach. It was also the LA marathon on Sunday so traffic was crraaazyy. Feng and I aren't really regular beach goers but we decided to make the trip out before everyone arrived to catch the sunrise. We didn't make it out by sunrise as you can see, but we were the first ones in the parking lot! Winners!
I'm loving these new rompers from the Amuse Society x Urban Outfitters collaboration! They're super easy to slip on and off, and the cotton is very soft and light. Have you ever had those days where you just don't want to put on pants? Well these rompers would definitely come in handy! It looks great when you pair them with a fun bikini like this floral one, giving it an extra pop of color.

Coffee Time

I've been battling a sickness for 3 weeks, and I'm finally feeling somewhat better. It's as if I hit pause on my life and hibernated for a month. I'm a person that gets antsy if I'm not keeping myself busy so these past few weeks were pretty rough. I'm taking this time to slowly catch up on life and get myself back to 100%.

I finally got the chance to get out of the apt this weekend! We took a stroll down our neighborhood and grabbed a coffee at one of my favorite spots. It's been really nice with the weather change, and being able to wear one layer instead of three (sorry east coasters). I've been wearing this top a lot lately, and you know me.. I love my oversize shirts! The thick stripes really makes the outfit pop. You can find the same or similar oversize stripe shirts at the bottom of the post!

Getty Villa

Got to check out the Getty Villa a few weeks back with my besties! When you finally park and get inside, it really feels like you're not in LA. Basically, the villa is a re-creation of a first-century Roman country house. Mr. Getty loved collecting ancient art but had no where to store them so he built two museums to showcase them! Sadly he passed away before the Villa was finished building, so he didn't get to see it. I always tell people that the Getty Museum is so beautiful it'd be great for a giant princess wedding, and the Getty Villa is for a romantic fantastical European wedding. If you're in LA, this is cool spot to visit! There's no entrance fee, just parking fee of $15.

Plated

After talking about Plated as one of the vday specials in this previous post, I decided to give it a try myself.  So I ordered three different plates and chose to cook Mushroom Parpadelle, Chicken Sausage Gumbo, and Beef Randang. Unfortunately, my Beef Randang turned out unappealing in the photos so I decided not to share those. :)
I found the entire process super convenient and good for dinner dates! This is also great for those who want to try cooking but don't want to fill up their pantries with spices that they're only going to use once. Here's how to order - go to their website, choose the date you'd like them to be delivered, choose your plates from their 5-7 item of choices, and you're done! You can customize how often you want them to deliver, and how many plates you'd like. My favorite? The Chicken Sausage Gumbo. If you're a first time user, don't forget to use the Facebook deal (buy 2 plates get 4 free)!

NYC // Part II

It was mostly cloudy the few days we were there, but none-the-less I felt like the gloom fit the city. When I arrived early in the morning, my best friend from college took me to brunch (of course) at a place in Brooklyn called Cafe Ghia.  It was pretty bomb. They put waffles on top of bacon and eggs, and lots of melted cheese on roasted potatoes. Then we made our way west to Dumbo, where we got to see the beautiful glass house by Tom Fruin, and lots of girls wearing short skirts doing a photoshoot in the snow.. (what?)

Here's a list of places we ate at...
Brunch at Cafe Ghia
Dinner with Feng's cousin at Bozu in Williamsburg. A little pricy but amazing sushi.
Late night Joe's Pizza after the bars. It's where they shot Spider-Man!
A quiet dinner date with my bestie at VinoTapa in mid-town.
Another late night munchies at Artichoke.

On the last day, a bunch of us decided to bring our cameras out and make it a shoot day, so we started down in Chelsea and made our way up the highline. We stumbled upon the Gotham set and they were nice enough for us to shoot right outside!

Thank goodness for Heattech! This Uniqlo coat has Heattech lining and I'm also wearing a Heattech long sleeve underneath the sweater.
The last stop we made was the new PATH station down by ground zero.
You should check it out if you ever visit NYC!
